Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Market Ale House

Popular micro-pub, busy straight after opening at 14:00 on a Wednesday afternoon. Relatively plain, yet attractive, semi-modern interior with the six high, small, wooden tables supplemented by some patio furniture out on the wide front pavement. Good selection of five real ales in a variety of styles from the six handpumps, and after some dithering I went for the Type of Way red ale from Rivington (£3.70).

This appears to be Leyland's original and also last remaining micropub. Spread over 2 floors, it was busy on my late Saturday evening visit and I was requested to sit outside in the cold.

The 5 real ales here were Mallinson's Wappy Nick, Northern Monk Eternal, Three Castles Stoned, Two By Two Session IPA & Hophurst Snuggle. Ciders were Weston's Old Rosie & Lilley's Mango Cider, Rhubarb Cider & Apple & Blackberry Cider.

My half of Snuggle was a nice enough mild, which went down easily given I didn't want to stick around for too long in the cold.

Decent place, but a bit too popular to allow for a relaxing drink in these times.

It’s more of a beer cafe than a pub, including the very cafeteria style tables outside. However, it is a friendly little place with pleasant young staff and clientele. 6 real ales on today. Obviously the best option in Leyland despite my reservations.
